I am thrilled to be making my way back into the classrooms and working with our students again! It has been a long time. The LearnPad fiasco has occupied an enormous chunk of my time, but now that there is some progress being made by LearnPad, I am free to pursue other, more important roles.
Mrs. Howd is working with me on documenting and sharing her student's book projects. We are capturing their productions with an iPad and using iMovie to edit and apply effects. The projects, once they are complete, will be shared with the class and their families. Additionally, Mrs. Black has arranged a Google+ Hangout with a class in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They will be sharing projects and asking geography related questions to one another. We have worked out the kinks on our end and look forward to the video conference this week. Kennedy is hosting a Family Night in a couple weeks and part of that night will be dedicated to Try-It-Out Tech Tools. We will be transforming the JFK Media Center into an Apple Store inspired exploration and testing station. Students and families can explore our tools and trying things out in person. We will also be promoting the new Digital Resources hub on our school websites. It has been an exciting few months, and I'll share more LearnPad updates as they are available to me.
